Meia Noite

LP (Item 84612) RCA (Brazil), 1976 — Condition: Very Good+
Gatefold
A sweetly mellow album from singer Maria Creuza – recorded with a bit more of a modern feel than some of her previous albums for RCA, less bossa touches, and a more romantic sound overall – one that has her vocals drifting over serious arrangements that have kind of a sad and late night feel. Titles include "Castigo", "Tete", "Tortura De Amor", "Otalia Da Bahia", "Onde Anda Voce", and "Dom De Iludir".  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Tight orchestral material from Zaccarias, and featuring a set of bossa and samba groovers played by a heavy ensemble reed section. The multiple reed approach works well, and gives the tracks a good punch that while not sounding exactly like classic bossa, does make them groove in a swinging way. ... LP, Vinyl record album

A really unique album from the legendary percussionist Nana Vasconcelos – one that continues the groundbreaking tradition of his 70s work, but with a very special style here! A fantastic album from this legendary Brazilian saxophonist – and one that's way different than the usual instrumental reading of the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim! Work Of Love

Montuno, 1988. Near Mint-
One of the greatest Airto records ever – a really overlooked record cut for the mostly-Latin Montuno label in the 80s!
