The great second volume of this genre-defining series – a set that looks at a really unique strain of R&B in the 50s – a special sort of groove that mixed together jazz, Latin, and other soulful styles! There's plenty of percussion on most of these numbers, but there's also lots of bluesy elements too – electric guitar, tenor, and firey piano – mixed with soulful vocals that leap wonderfully out of the vivid arrangements – at a level that really makes these tunes pretty darn unique! Some cuts have a vibe that's like jump blues, taking a drink of 50s Latin – while others almost have a Spanish Harlem sort of hybrid, but years before the later Latin Soul scene – a really vibrant mix of modes that keeps things exciting throughout. All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.
