House, 1986. Very Good-
A Chicago house classic, taking off on the riff from the Isaac Hayes tune that's been re-edited and mixed as doubles in clubs for ages and turning it into a new club anthem!
Sound Pak, 1985. Very Good+
A classic bit of underground from Chicago – featuring vocals by a young Liz Torres, over heavy beats and some tightly snapping grooves. There's a lot of tasty deep house riffing in the mix – with plenty of bass-heavy keyboards grooving in a very moody way!
Gotta Dance, 1985. Very Good-
Rare early house tracks from Chip E, mostly minimal drum tracks on here, including "It's House", "Time To Jack", "House Energy", "It's Dub", "Time To Track", "MB Dance", and "Sensuous House".
Trax, 1987. Good+
Not the Marshall Jefferson track with a very similar name, but still a great early Chicago house single in the Trax tradition produced by Sweet T and mixed by Farley Keith.
Sound Of New York/Becket, 1982. Very Good
Maybe a bit goofy, but now a classic club track that's survived the test of time nicely as just about every DJ's theme song, with a monster scratchy guitar riff, and lots of that rolling bass pedal groove that was so popular in the early 80s.
