Bob Marley & The Wailers — Burnin' ... LP 18.99

Quite possibly THE Bob Marley album – or at least the record that really exploded the man from the Jamaican scene into huge global fame – thanks to a universally soulful sound that moved the record way past the barriers that were holding the rest of Kingston sounds back from the mainstream! The record still has Bob working with the original Wailers lineup that includes Bunny Wailer and Peter Tosh – both of whom have enough of a presence here to really rise Marley up, and point him in the majestic direction he'd take on his later solo albums. The record features the classics "Get Up Stand Up" and "I Shot The Sherriff" – and other titles include "Duppy Conqueror", "One Foundation", "Pass It On", "Burnin & Lootin", "Hallelujah Time", and "Small Axe". Also includes 3 bonus tracks – "Reincarnated Souls", "No Sympathy" and 'The Oppressed Song".  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

Soul Rebels (with bonus tracks)
Trojan/Universal, 1970. Used
A record that's got maybe the cheesiest cover of any album by Bob Marley – and a set that's a bit notorious, too – as producer Lee Perry never shared money with the Wailers for the first few years of release! Still, the package is a key part of the Bob Marley story – especially ... CD

Uprising (with bonus tracks)
Island/Tuff Gong, 1980. Used
Marley's last studio LP, this effort shows there was no letting up, either in his political stance or fiery songwriting. With the solid original rhythm section of Family Man & Carlton Barrett and the beautiful backing harmonies of the I-Three's, this set includes classic takes of "Redempti ... CD

A record that's not only a landmark in Jamaican music – but also a set that was to reggae what Curtis Mayfield's Superfly was to 70s soul! In other words, the set not only raised the bar for all the competition, it also ended up in a lot more record collections than most of them too – ... CD

A surprisingly sweet batch of remixes of Bob Marley material – done by Afrodisiac Sound System,Trio Electrico, Jimpster and others! The compilers of Roots, Rock, Remixed were wise and tasteful enough to pick the rightly reverent remixers to do the tunes justice rather than taking a clean, ... CD

A great collection – filled with rare nuggets from the early days of Island Records, up through the big 70s years of Bob Marley and others – all the way up to the label's commitment to the music during the dancehall and later years! 87 tracks in all – and a nice set of notes! CD

Aptly titled collection of many of Winston Rodney's finest moments from the mid 70s. Collected from the Marcus Garvey, Man In The Hills, Dry & Heavy, Live and Social Living sets, you know these are some mighty, mighty roots tracks. 11 tracks, all essential : "Marcus Garvey", "D ... CD

Wackie's/Deeper Knowledge, 1982. Used
One of the hippest records on the early 80s run from Wackie's – a righteous set that's got plenty of bass stepping at the bottom, and lots of weird instrumental touches on the top! The album's got a head-nodding sort of spirit – very relaxed, but never in a sloppy way – with a ... CD
