Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have
some signs of use (although not major ones).
May have slight surface noise when played.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
One of Leon's nicer later numbers – a bumping little roller skate groove with some tasty bass at the bottom! The tune snaps along in really catchy way – sliding with Leon's smooth vocals nicely nestled in the mix! 12-inch, Vinyl record
A nice mellow soul number from the Street Called Desire album – one that steps along at a downtempo pace – but which still features the vocals out front proudly, as if the tune was a clubbier number. Proof that the pair could handle a slow jam nicely. 12-inch, Vinyl record
A dancefloor anthem if there ever was one – and produced by August Darnell, pre Kid Creole. Strong female vocals in unison – and a hook that just won't quit for the west village clubs! 12-inch, Vinyl record
A very catchy bit of funk from the P-Funk glory days, with a bass-heavy groove that reminds us of Bootsy Collins' best work, and the same sort of "Flashlight" groove that put them over the top. 12-inch, Vinyl record
An electro pop classic – and one of the greatest tunes by New Edition! The track's got some nice street beats from Arthur Baker, and catchy lead vocals that sound a lot like the Jackson 5 at their best! 12-inch, Vinyl record
A great bass-heavy groover from The Gap Band – pulled off one of their best albums ever, Gap Band IV! The cut's got some really great funky bits on the bottom – acoustic piano wrapped around some more electric rhythms, in a blend that keeps the track as soulful as it is catchy! 12-inch, Vinyl record
If you're not familiar with them, Son of Bazerk was a side project of the Bomb Squad during the Public Enemy days. On "Bang", like their other singles, they combine a dozen styles, everything from raggae chatting to party chants over the Bomb Squad's wall-of-sound. "The Band Get's ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
