This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Although Osibisa were one of the most successful of the London-based Afro-funk groups, they were also one of the best. This cool first album is filled with (as the label says) "criss cross rhythms that explode with happiness". Translated, that means that the record's got lots of nice ... LP, Vinyl record album
We have to be honest, we know a little bit about African music, but not a lot. So when we came across a small stack of African records, we scooped them up and put them online, but rather than insult those of you out there who know and love this stuff, we're just listing them at a nice price ... An incredible batch of highly percussive tracks – and certainly the best of the American records by this enigmatic African drummer! Warren leads his "Soundz" trio – which features Richard Davis on bass and Ollie Shearer on vibes and marimba. The sound is very fierce, very ... LP, Vinyl record album
This UK Afro Funk group is slicking things up a bit for this 1973 album – but not in a bad way, because it actually kicks up the groove considerably. In fact, it almost sounds like they've been listening to a bit of War – because the the best tracks on the album have lots of that funky ... LP, Vinyl record album
Incredible stuff – and quite possibly the greatest album ever recorded by this enigmatic percussionist! The record features Chaino with his "African Percussion Safari" – not really listed on the notes individually, but (we surmise) most likely a group of studio percussionists. ... A second volume of ethnographic field recordings – an intriguing portrait of music not often captured on tape. While the title describes the rituals the music was meant to accompany as "witchcraft", the ceremonies are healing and, in some cases, celebratory, such as weddings and ... LP, Vinyl record album
