The legendary team of Johnny Griffin and Eddie Lockjaw Davis are wonderfully reunited here – in a set of live recordings from Copenhagen – done in the mid 80s, but with all the tight energy of their classic sides from the 60s! As on those albums, the pairing of the two tenor titans only seems to make each artist play even more strongly – bring out their sharpest edges and most surprising choices, as they trade things back and forth nicely over a set a very extended tracks.
