A bit of a shift in lineup for Caravan – but a set that has the group stepping out in all their fantastic proggy glory! This time around, Steve Miller provides some incredible work on electric piano, organ, and electric harpsichord – and the set also features some guest soprano sax work from Lol Coxhill, who'd later record wonderfully with Miller on Virgin Records – and whose presence here further underscores the qualities that make Caravan one of the jazziest groups of their prog generation! The classic core is wonderful too – Pye Hastings on guitars, Richard Sinclair on bass, and Richard Coughlan on drums – and the interplay between the latter two is fantastic, and really keeps the album driving onward. Titles include "Waterloo Lilly", "Songs & Signs", "Nothing At All", "Aristocracy", "The World Is Yours", and "The Love In Your Eye/To Catch Me A Brother/Subsultus/Debouchement/Tilbury Kecks". © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.
