2 great numbers off of one of the funkiest of Sergio Mendes' 70s albums, Sergio Mendes & The New Brasil '77. Side A's a perennial favorite here in Chicago – "The Real Thing" is a funky cover of the Stevie Wonder tune by the same name, done in a tight smooth 70s jazz funk mode, a style that's keep the song fresh for many years to come! "Mozambique" pops along in a similarly slick late 70s funk crossover mode, too!  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Cover has some wear and aging.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Trax, 1987. Very Good+
Two classics from Frankie! Of all the artists on the Chicago Trax label during the glory days of the windy city house scene, Frankie was the one who really kept a strong line traced back to the club sound of the late 70s and early 80s. Another great Trax single from Adonis, not quite as Acid sounding as "No Way Out", but a catchy groove nonetheless. You've got to love those 909 handclaps! 12-inch, Vinyl record
