What Becomes A Semi Legend Most?

LP (Item 801303) Geffen, 1983 — Condition: Very Good+

(Includes the printed inner sleeve. Cover has light wear.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Cut around the time he was still on SNL, just before Delirious came out and filled with skits like "Buckwheat", "Black Movie Theaters", "Doo-Doo/Christmas Gifts", "Effrom", "Hit By A Car", "The Pope & Ronald Reagan" and his rap sendup ... LP, Vinyl record album
Straight, 1956. Near Mint- Gatefold
One of the strongest recordings ever made of the mad mad Lord Buckley! Warner, 1978. Very Good+ 2LP Gatefold
It's 1978 so that means Richard's heavy into the basing backstage, right? We can't tell for sure, but he cuts loose with the reckless abandon that we love about his late 70s records. Loads of hilarious skits, including 'White & Black People", "Black Funerals", 'Discipline" ... LP, Vinyl record album

Mickey Katz

Katz Pajamas
Capitol, Late 50s. Near Mint-
Hilarious stuff – bedtime stories from the great Mickey Katz! LP, Vinyl record album
Elektra, 1951/Late 60s. Very Good+
Lord Buckley's rare early recordings for the Vaya label in LA – groundbreaking sides that predated most comedy albums, and which also had a huge influence on the spoken word recordings of the beat generation! The tracks were recorded live, with Buckley talking in a mixture of jive and ... LP, Vinyl record album

Woody Allen

Woody Allen
Colpix, 1964. Very Good+
Woody's very first LP – and a pretty great album of standup material, cut back when he was just a budding writer for TV. The set was recorded at Mr Kelly's in Chicago, and has an easy going flow – with Woody just talking his way through material, almost in a Lenny Bruce sort of way. LP, Vinyl record album

Benny Hill

Words & Music
Capitol, 1972. Very Good+
An excellent album that features loads of material from Benny Hills' early days – when he was tighter and fresher, and before he worked too many years for ITV! You may recognize a number of these titles from later recordings, but these early ones are just great, and feature a much more ... LP, Vinyl record album

Cheech & Chong

Big Bambu
Ode, 1972. Very Good+ Gatefold
We don't know about you, but we never get tired of Cheech & Chong's jokes about reefer and East LA. Loads of great pot jokes on this album with the nice rolling paper gatefold sleeve, including "Sister Mary Elephant", "Ralph & Herbie", "Streets Of New York Or Los ... LP, Vinyl record album

Cheryl Lynn

Cheryl Lynn
Columbia, 1978. Very Good
Massive work from the great Cheryl Lynn – and a key bridge between late 70s disco and the newer grooves of the 80s club scene! The album's a mix of midtempo groovers with a few mellower tracks – and it's got a tight, slightly jazzy sound that was very fresh at the time, and which still ... LP, Vinyl record album

Michael Henderson

Buddah, 1976. Near Mint-
The very first album from Michael Henderson – but a set that already finds him very much at the top of his game – thanks to previous work with Miles Davis and Norman Connors! Both artists gave Henderson a chance to do different things with his music, and by the time of this record, ... LP, Vinyl record album
