Stand By Me
LP (Item 798826) Atlantic, 1986 — Condition: Very Good
May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean,
and not too dirty.
May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play,
but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep.
Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well,
with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song,
but never throughout a whole song or more.
This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times,
but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Pretty groovy stuff – even if it is a big shift for Polnareff! Polnareff began his career as a cool French popster – singing in a style that mixed baroque 60s arrangements with the intimacy of folk. Here, though, he's gone disco/electronic – and has composed four cool long ... LP, Vinyl record album
An amazing moment – both in American theater and music – the groundbreaking original production of Hamilton – written by and starring the wonderful Lin-Manuel Miranda, a man who's intent on completely transforming the American cultural landscape! The soundtrack is very fittingly ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of the greatest soundtracks ever – a record that set a whole new standard for audio representation of a film! The mad music for the set was composed by Antonio Carlos Jobim, with lyrics by Vincius De Moraes – and performed by Luiz Bonfa on guitar – but despite such prime ... LP, Vinyl record album
A hell of a soundtrack from the great Johnny Mandel – maybe his jazziest work of the 60s, and perfectly scored for this groovy cop film that stars Paul Newman as the 45-wielding title character! The vibe here is almost more 60s Quincy Jones than anything else – with sublime ... LP, Vinyl record album
An excellent trippy soundtrack – to a film we'd love to see, and which starred Charles Aznavour, Ringo Starr, John Astin, James Coburn, John Huston, Richard Burton, and Marlon Brando! The crazy outing is accompanied by a great Dave Grusin score that includes lots and lots of heavy guitars ... LP, Vinyl record album
Carly Simon makes a big appearance here – singing the hit title track "Nobody Does It Better" – one of the highest-charting Bond film tunes of the 70s! But our favorites are the instrumental songs – handled by Marvin Hamlisch here with a sound that's perhaps a bit more ... LP, Vinyl record album
A great little record that's waiting to be re-discovered! The album quickly tanked as the over-pressed soundtrack to an under-viewed film – but despite years in cutout bins, it's got a fresh quality that we really treasure! About half the album features cool instrumental tunes from Mike ... LP, Vinyl record album
Not actually music with Kim Novak – but a set of musical backdrops by Morris Stoloff – designed as a package for the film Jeanne Eagels! The cover has a great color shot on the front, and smaller images of Kim on the back – and the music is surprisingly dark and moody. LP, Vinyl record album
