A beautiful set from Freddie Hubbard – part of his move back to straighter, more long-form jazz at the start of the 80s! The set's still got some keyboards in the mix, but it's also got a soaring, searching, soulful groove that reminds us a lot of Hubbard's best late 60s moments for Atlantic ... LP, Vinyl record album
Classic Freddie Hubbard on Blue Note – from the hip cover to the magical music in the grooves! The session is one of Freddie's all-time best from the early days – and features a very hard wailing lineup that mixes tight hardbop rhythms with some more adventurous soloing that almost has ... Unlike the freer runs of Miles Davis, Freddie takes things into territory here that's open, ... LP, Vinyl record album
An amazing second CTI set from Freddie Hubbard – one that takes off nicely from Red Clay territory, and starts to hit an even funkier mode! The tracks here are all relatively long, with a huge amount of solo space for Freddie on trumpet, Joe Henderson on tenor, George Benson on guitar, and ... LP, Vinyl record album
A great session that was recorded by Freddie Hubbard in the 60s, but not issued by Blue Note until the mid 70s – and only then as part of a short-lived double length set! This version is the first real issue of the material – with the original cover art intended for the session in the ... LP, Vinyl record album
Sweet electric keys from the great Bob James – a record that's a bit smoother than some of his first few classics for CTI, but still plenty darn nice! The set's got Bob working with a range of key fusion and studio players who include Steve Gadd, Earl Klugh, Eric Gale, Hubert Laws, Mongo ... LP, Vinyl record album

One of the few cases in jazz where an oft-played classic still resonates with power! The record itself is a key cap to Miles Davis' already-groundbreaking years of the 60s – a bold step forward, not just for his nascent electric sound, but also for jazz in general – and the benchmark ...
