Great later work from Eddie Higgins – one of the excellent sets he's cut for Venus Records – a label who've really helped elevate him to a great new sound! Higgins was always great back in the day on the Chicago scene, but after the early 60s his work was really sporadic – so the solidity of a date like this is even more impressive – given that it cements Eddie's understated reputation as one of the best piano stylists of his generation.
