Zoolook

LP (Item 79180) Dreyfus (France), 1984 — Condition: Very Good+

World sounds meet 80s electronics – and the result is a groundbreaking batch of tracks from Jean-Michel Jarre, one that sounds a heck of a lot better today than we remember 20 years ago! Jarre's got a great sound here – dark, evocative, and with enough colonialist tension between the sources and their manipulation to create an unsettling feel overall. He's getting help from guests that include Laurie Anderson, Adrian Belew, Yogi Horton, and Marcus Miller – and titles include "Ethnicolor", "Diva", "Zoolook", "Blah Blah Cafe", and "Zoolookologie".  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Original French pressing, including inner sleeve.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

B-52s
Warner, 1979. Very Good-
A hell of a debut from The B-52s – and a record that's become surprisingly timeless over the years, despite a retro-styled approach by the group! Manifesto
Atco, 1979. Very Good-
A brilliant little comeback album for Roxy Music – their first album in 4 years after Siren, and a well-done departure that takes off from older records without losing any of their greatness!
