Make Love to Me

LP (Item 7915) Liberty, 1957 — Condition: Very Good

Hard to imagine that Julie London would ever have to ask anyone to make love to her – at least not when she looks as sexy as this on the cover! The album's a key early classic for Liberty – still very fragile, personal, and up-close enough to make you think you might just be able to jump inside the cover and spend the night with Julie! Russ Garcia handles the backings with great care – a bit of gentle strings here, some light jazz there – but always letting London's breathy vocals come up very high in the mix. Titles include "Go Slow", "Lover Man", "Body & Soul", "Snuggled On Your Shoulder", and "Make Love To Me".  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Mono turquoise label pressing with deep groove.)

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

About The Blues
Liberty, Late 50s. Very Good

Liberty, Late 50s. Very Good
A beautiful little vocal set – and not nearly as gimmicky as you'd expect! The album's "presented" by Martin Denny, but overall it's a pretty straight jazz set – featuring vocals by Japanese/Hawaiian Ethel, sung in a cool and moody style that's got lots of 50s west coast ... LP, Vinyl record album
