An early demonstration of Eliane Elias' love of Brazilian music – a wonderful set that's filled with famous tunes penned by Antonio Carlos Jobim – mostly played by Eliane on piano, but also sung in a few spots as well! The group features solid jazz grounding from Eddie Gomez on bass and Jack DeJohnette on drums – both players who hint at freedom around the edges, while still flowing through these bossa-rooted tunes. Nana Vasconcelos also joins the group on percussion – in ways that are a bit more restrained than some of his other jazz recordings, but which still helps create an organic depth to the music.
