This image is a general representation of the item and the actual product may differ slightly in terms of color shading, logo placement, borders, or other small details. Used items may have various cosmetic differences as well.
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Used CD Grade
We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD".
This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer
Used CDs in the best shape possible.
When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the
lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves),
and the booklet to be in good shape.
Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or
defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs —
so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.
All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws.
If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine
that it plays correctly —
and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.
Wes Montgomery's first album as a leader – a relatively obscure set that has him playing in a trio with Indianapolis bandmates Mel Rhyne on organ and Paul Parker on drums – a mode that strongly recalls Montgomery's roots in the Indy scene at the time! If you only know the later, famous ... CD
George Russell was always committed to exploring new territory – as he proves well on this hard to find album cut for Riverside during the early 60s! Russell's surrounded himself here with some great younger and lesser-known players – including trumpeter Don Ellis, trombonist Garnett ... CD
One of Frank Morgan's great comeback records from later years – featuring the leader on alto, with Mulgrew Miller on piano, Ron Carter on bass, and Al Foster on drums! CD
A later non-trio session with horns – featuring nice work from Harold Land and Ira Sullivan on tenor, and cornet from Nat Adderley! Titles include "Stella By Starlight", "It's Impossible", "Theme For A Tarzan Movie", and "Red Alert". CD
Rock-solid live material from the classic Cannonball Adderley Sextet – a combo who could usually groove even better on a concert date then they could in the studio! The album's one of a number of key live sides from Cannon in the 60s – and although it pre-dates his work on Capitol, it's ... CD
PC here refers to Paul Chambers – who's touted in the liner notes as if he was the leader of the set, although it's just a regular Red Garland trio set from the late 50s! Chambers had died the year before, so it made sense that the session was packaged as sort of a tribute to him for this ... CD
A sweet batch of gentle tunes from guitarist Charlie Byrd – one of his first albums as a leader, recorded in his hometown of Washington DC, with backings by a small woodwind group. A few tracks have some strong solos by tenorist Buck Hill – an under-recorded DC player – and a few ... CD
The Cats here are all quite hip ones – and the album's one of the best Prestige Records blowing sessions from the late 50s – an all-star sextet effort that features Tommy Flanagan on piano, John Coltrane on tenor, Idrees Sulieman on trumpet, Kenny Burrell on guitar, Doug Watkins on bass ... CD
A lesser-known post-Prestige album by Red Garland – played in a mellow mode that features plenty of smokey tunes and late nite numbers! The style's certainly more gentle, and almost more tentative, than Red on Prestige – and many numbers have him slowly stepping along the keys of the ... CD
Early 50s material recorded by the late Clifford Brown – issued here in a classic "memorial" package slightly after his death in 1956! And while Brown never recorded much for Prestige – and never really as a leader – these sides are still a great example of his ... CD
