Beautiful rare work from Charlie Haden – a 2CD set that features 2 different live performances from the mid 80s! First up is a haunting date recorded on Charlie's 50th birthday, in Santa Monica – a quartet session with Ernie Watts on saxes, Alan Broadbent on piano, and Billy Higgins on drums – all working with Charlie's bass on a set of tracks that runs from straight bop to some wonderfully sensitive, fluid numbers that are very much in the classic Haden style. Titles include "Passport", "Nardis", "Misery", "Segment", "Hermitage", and "Etudes". CD two features another live date, but from a year later – again with Watts on saxes, and Broadbent on piano – but with Paul Motian on drums. All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.
