This image is a general representation of the item and the actual product may differ slightly in terms of color shading, logo placement, borders, or other small details. Used items may have various cosmetic differences as well.
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Used CD Grade
We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD".
This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer
Used CDs in the best shape possible.
When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the
lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves),
and the booklet to be in good shape.
Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or
defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs —
so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.
All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws.
If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine
that it plays correctly —
and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.
Quite possibly the last truly sublime album ever recorded by Os Mutantes – a set that's a bit more rock-oriented then their first few, but still pretty revolutionary overall! The group have expanded to a quintet at this point, but haven't yet falling into the guitar-heavy groove of later ... CD
A classic early bossa session on the Elenco label! Sylvia Telles and Lucio Alves sing, both solo and in duets, while Roberto Menescal backs them up with his tight little combo – and even plays vibes on a few instrumentals! The whole thing's got a great fragile bossa feel, with lots of nice ... CD
A stunning step forward for the great Elis Regina – and a landmark record that would set the stage for most of her final work to come in the 70s! The album's got less of the jazz or bossa inflections of her music from the 60s – and instead moves into this richly sophisticated style ... CD
An amazing early album from Brazilian guitar virtuoso Luiz Bonfa – originally recorded by the audiophile Cook Laboratories on a Nagra recorder – in a spare, stripped-down, "in the field" sort of style! There's an intimacy here that's missing from some of Bonfa's studio ... CD
An excellent bossa session led by pianist Oscar Castro-Neves and his band, and recorded during the blitz of early bossa sessions by the Audio Fidelity label! The group's a large one, but not too large to lose the groove – and Castro-Neves put the whole thing together so that the album's ... CD
A wonderful live date from the team of Flora Purim and Airto Moreira – recorded at a time when Flora was working more in an R&B style on records, but done in a soaring, jazzy vibe that's like the duo's best work from earlier in the 70s! Tracks are long, and this beautiful blend of ... CD
Wicked burning Dancehall collection of hot tracks and fierce rhythms, from VP. 17 massive numbers: Johnny Osbourne "No Ice Cream Sound", Super Beagle "Dust Out A Sound Bwoy", Sister Nancy "Bam Bam", Super Cat "Boops", Pinchers "Bandelero", Shelly ... CD
Angular work from the Guillermo Gregorio Trio – a group with Gregorio on clarinet and tenor, Pandelis Karayorgis on piano, and Mat Maneri on electric violin! The sound here is somewhat obtuse at times – and reminds us a bit of Jimmy Giuffre's more "out" trio sides as the 60s ... CD
