LP, Vinyl record album

5.00 11

A pronounced change in modes for Cerrone – partly moving back here to keyboard-infused disco, but also hitting some more soulful modes, and sliding into some mellow tunes that sound surprisingly nice! Of course, part of the thanks for that goes to vocalist Nanette Workman – who sings lead on 3 of the album's best tracks (other vocals are sung by Carole Rowley and Kay Gardner.) Titles include "Trippin On The Moon", "Back Track", "Strollin On A Sunday", "Rendez Vous", and remake of "Supernature". (US pressing. Cover has a promo stamp and stuck paper/peeling on the bottom 3 inches.)  © 1996-2015, Dusty Groove, Inc.

We realize that there are many different interpretations of the standard grades used for pre-owned vinyl record albums & CD, so we thought we'd offer you the ones that we are working with, so you have an idea what we mean when we give the grade for a non-new item on our pages.

Used Vinyl Grades

Below are stated conditions for a used vinyl records at Dusty Groove. Grading for the cover should be assumed to be near (within a "+" or "-") the grading for the vinyl. If there is significant divergence from the condition of the vinyl, or specific flaws, these will be noted in the comments section of the item. However, please be aware that since the emphasis of this site is towards the music listener, our main concern is with the vinyl of any used item we sell. Additionally, please note that all of our records are graded visually; considering the volume of used vinyl we handle, it is impossible for us to listen to each record. If we spot any significant flaws, we make every attempt to listen through them and note how they play.

The following grading conditions apply to the vinyl component of an album or single:

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Intimate
CBS/KG, 1976. Very Good
An intimate record from Leon Haywood, but one that's still got his sense of groove nicely in place – at a level that has the singer really warming up to a new sort of modern soul style in the process! There's still some of the elements of Haywood's earlier records in place – but ... LP, Vinyl record album

People, 1973. Good+
An incredible album – a landmark piece of funk that nobody should be without, funk fan or not! The album is the second to feature James Brown's famous backing combo of the early 70s – and unlike their first one, which was really more of a collection of singles, this album has the group ... Heaven & Earth
Mercury, 1978. Very Good
Excellent work from this smooth Chicago vocal group! The album may well be the best the group ever recorded – and it features some stellar ballad work produced with a nice spacey tone, almost in a Rose Royce mellow mode – by Jerry Butler's Fountain Productions team and by Clarence ...
