Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible. All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

With our Used CDs, you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks — clean, and not dirty at all. You can also expect the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves — putting fresh cases on Used CDs we handle) — and you can expect the booklet to be in good shape, unless noted otherwise. We will list any specific details/defects underneath the item — so look for notes on cutout marks in the case, stamps on the barcode, or details like that.

Beat (Italy), 1974. Used
A lost 70s score from Ennio Morricone – penned for a period piece set in 19th Century Italy, and done with a driving, dramatic sort of feel! Some of the numbers here have that subdued orchestral mode that Morricone used at his most subtle moments – a style that's not as crazy as some ... CD

Hornet's Nest
Quartet (Spain), 1970. Used
A score that's arguably much better than the movie it was written for – a great Ennio Morricone moment for a 70s thriller that starred Rock Hudson! Morricone's a bit restrained, but in a way that's pretty nice – making for some lighter orchestral numbers that offset the darker mood of ... CD

Beat (Italy), Late 60s. Used
The genius of Ennio Morricone – heard here in 2 different settings! Un Esercito Di 5 Uomini is a late 60s spaghetti western – but as usual with Morricone, the sound is way beyond the obvious – and comes across here with these fierce, dark musical lines that juxtapose sweeter ... CD

Billion Dollar Brain/Final Option
MGM/Kritzerland, 1967/1982. Used
Two lost scores – packaged together on a single CD! First up is Billion Dollar Brain, composed by Richard Rodney Bennett – done for an obscure late 60s spy thriller starring Michael Caine, and a really dark soundtrack! Bennett did a fair bit of jazz arranging in his time – and ... CD

Compost (Germany), 2003. Used
A soundtrack for the 21st Century – original film tunes written and scored by il maestro Morricone, re-mixed and re-done by the Compost Records collective! Compost isn't normally as into the soundtrack bag as some of their other contemporaries on the European scene – which is why this ... CD

Beat (Italy), 1979/1990. Used
A pair of weird soundtracks from Italian soundtrack heavy Fabio Fizzi – the stylistically sprawling music for Zombi 2 (released in America as Zombie) and some later compositions for Un Gatto Nel Cervello! The Zombi grooves are wildly unpredictable – from neo Carribbean inflections, to ... CD
Il Profeta/La Matriarca
GDM/Cinedelic (Italy), 1968. Used
2 of the grooviest soundtracks ever recorded by this Italian genius! For the score to the mod 60s film Il Profeta, Trovajoli adds in some great elements like twanging guitars, trippy sitar, and hammond organ – all of which groove along in kind of a "go go" mode on the set's best ... CD
