Sounds Of Animals – Audible Communication Of Zoo & Farm Animals

LP (Item 767642) Folkways, Early 60s — Condition: Very Good

A sweet entry in Folkways' "Science Series" – filled with sounds of elephants, pumas, lions, chimps, tigers, monkeys, hippos, and more!  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(In the green cover, including the book.)

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Johnson, Late 70s. Very Good
We don't know much about this, but it's a pretty sweet sound library set! A one-sided LP with a bunch of slinky instrumentals, leading up to an "affair" – done in kind of a Love Unlimited Orchestra way – finished by a sweet song at the end, with soulful female vocals. LP, Vinyl record album

Oscar Rocchi & Tullio De Piscopo

Metamorphosis
Edizioni Minstrel/Spettro (Italy), 1981. Sealed
A great little project from two underground legends of Italian music – keyboardist Oscar Rocchi, whose legacy includes some great jazz and sound library material – and drummer Tullio De Piscopo, who could play with avant talents, but also hit some tighter grooves for the clubs! David Lee/Group Six Players

All That Jazz – KPM 1014
KPM (UK), 1967. Very Good+
A straight jazz album recorded for the KPM sound library – but a pretty groovy one at that! All the work here is the product of David Lee and his un-named Group Six Players – a cool combo who feature piano, trumpet, guitar, and a bit of flute – all over some really wonderful ... A cool mist of sound library and jazz – with woodwinds from Dave Karr, and piano from Herb Pilhofer – another American sound library talent! LP, Vinyl record album

Isley Brothers

This Old Heart Of Mine
Tamla, 1966. Good+
The Isley Brothers on Motown – a really key step forward for the group, who find a whole new level of soul with help from the Holland Dozier Holland team! There's a warmth here missing from previous Isleys material – that rough edge that was more part of their rocking years, softened a ... LP, Vinyl record album
Verve, 1967. Near Mint- Gatefold
One of the most unusual Roland Kirk albums of the 60s – his only session for Verve, and a record cut with a slightly different feel than some of his work for Mercury or Atlantic!
