Basie's Basement

LP (Item 764979) RCA, Late 40s — Condition: Very Good+
Temporarily Out Of Stock

LP, Vinyl record album

✈
❔
Featuring Jimmy Rushing.
(Mono purple & blue label pressing. Cover has light wear, some aging, drip stain in front, large stain at the opening, a bit of pen in back, and split bottom seam held with clear tape.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Condition Notes

If something is relevant, we try to describe it in the notes — especially if it is release or pressing details, or an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Basie At Birdland
Roulette, 1961. Very Good+
A killer set from Count Basie – recorded during the height of his years at Roulette! The back cover of the record proclaims that "Basie Is Back Home" – clearly a bit by Birdland to lay claim to being the Count's home address, which is a bit of a challenge to his KC roots! ... RCA (UK), 1957/1962. Very Good+
Oh how we love this album – and we think it may well be the best album ever from Charles Mingus!
