The best collection we've ever seen of work by this amazing 60s harmony group – 43 tracks in all, packaged as a double CD set with a great set of notes! The package features tracks (all of them?) from Ruby's years at the Kapp label – a time when the group was working on a very fine line between straight pop soul, and some of the more righteous themes that were bubbling under in the civil rights era. The best example of this is the group's magical hit "Our Day Will Come", but that's only the tip of the iceberg, as the set's brimming over with great tracks that deal with loss, longing, needs, and wants – sung to perfection by a young Ruby Nash, backed up with a quartet of male voices for a really unique sound. Titles include "Till There Was You", "Day Dreaming", "I'm Sorry", "Chances Are", "Nobody But My Baby", "Much Better Off Than I've Ever Been", "When You're Young & In Love", "Think", "Our Day Will Come", and "Till Then".  © 1996-2025, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Used CD Grade

We use the all-encompassing grade "Used CD" for non-new CDs because we only buy and offer used CDs in the best possible condition.

When you purchase a used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use, but if there are significant details or defects we describe the item's condition (just like we do with LPs), so look for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details before ordering.

All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.

Condition Notes

If something is relevant, we try to describe it in the notes — especially if it is release or packaging details, or an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the CD. This might include, but isn't limited to, scratches, tracks that skip, case/insert damage or wear, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

The cover's a bit creepy, but the album's still plenty great – old school Cameo still strongly in a funk-based mode, before some of the stiffer grooves of their later years! Bass is the ruler of the set – and most tracks here vamp around in a very heavy P-Funk style of groove – ... CD
MCA, 1980. Used
The Dramatics hit an 80s groove mood here – and as on their clubbier sides from the end of the 70s, the vocals are still wonderful – and more than anything, the set's a strong soul-based set that still has the group at the top of their game! Ballads actually sparkle the best here ... CD

Morris Nanton

Warner (Japan), 1958. Used
Lost lyrical sounds from Morris Nanton – a player who only recorded a handful of albums, all of them great! Nanton's an unusual player – in that at one level, he's got this heavy left-hand style that's almost in a soul jazz mode – but also still manages some of the lighter, more ... CD
