First Water

LP (Item 756627) MCA, 1973 — Condition: Very Good+
Originally: 7.99
A fantastic first album from The Sharks – a group who are maybe not that well-remembered these days, but who represent a key bridge between 60s blues-inspired rock and some of the tighter, more compact sounds of the pub rock generation – working here with a sound that's a real standout for the time! The great Chris Spedding is in the group on guitar, delivering lines that are every bit as powerful as some of his proggier work, but a lot more focused too – really driving a lot of power into the record in support of the superb lead vocals of Snips – a raspy-voiced singer with a very distinct approach! Titles include "Driving Sideways", "Brown Eyed Boy", Steal Away", "Snakes & Swallowtails", "World Park Junkies", and "Broke A Feeling".  © 1996-2025, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Cover has a split spine held by clear tape and some surface wear.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Condition Notes

If something is relevant, we try to describe it in the notes — especially if it is release or pressing details, or an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
