Anibal Bravo

LP (Item 752680) RMM, 1988 — Condition: Sealed
...

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Orquesta Broadway

Pasaporte
Coco, 1976. Very Good+
An excellent 70s outing by Orquesta Broadway – grooving hard in the new charanga groove that helped older acts like them hit a fresh new audience at the time. The album's got some great electric bass driving the group, echoing away darkly under the flute and violin solos – and titles ... LP, Vinyl record album

Tito Rodriguez

Live At Birdland
United Artists, 1961. Very Good+
A fantastic record that's truly one of Tito Rodriguez's best from the 60s – a very jazzy affair, and one that breaks the pattern of most of his other albums of the time! As the title implies, Tito's working here live at Birdland nightclub – with a jazz-based lineup to match the setting ... LP, Vinyl record album
Fania, Mid 60s. Very Good+
One of Pacheco's last charanga albums – with an expansion of the sound considerably from the earlier years, moving into territory that sounds even groovier than before! The album's got a great instrumental version of "Sunshine Superman", done in a Latin Soul pachanga mode – ... LP, Vinyl record album

Orquesta Aragon

Cha Cha Cha
RCA, 1950s. Very Good+
Cha cha cha material – as the title might imply – classic sides by Orquesta Aragon, and one of their stronger albums for RCA! Songs include "Nosotros", "Cachita", "Silencio", "Yo Tengo Una Muneca", "Curatro Vidas", "El ... LP, Vinyl record album
Cook, Early 50s. Very Good+
A nice little session of Latin jazz – percussive at the bottom, but with an overall jazz mambo feel that's similar to early 50s work by Chico O'Farrill. Tracks are shortish, but have some nice solos by unnamed players – and titles include "Hi Fi Mambo", "Mambo A La ... LP, Vinyl record album

Orquesta Broadway

Salvaje (Savage)
Coco, 1975. Very Good+
70s charanga grooves from Orquesta Broadway – not nearly as savage as the title might imply, but a strong set nonetheless – cut in the best style of the Coco label! Harvey Averne produced, and he's got a nice way of making the group's traditional approach sound oddly fresh in the 70s ... LP, Vinyl record album

Santos Colon

Love Story
Fania, 1971. Very Good+
Better than you might think, and not the straight romantic album you might expect – thanks to arrangements by Marty Sheller and Tito Puente – with titles that include "Mil Congojas", "No Es Posible", "Encuentrame", "Hay Que Recordar", "Love ... LP, Vinyl record album
