Jubilee

LP (Item 750278) Polydor (UK), 1978 — Condition: Near Mint-
A nice punk-era soundtrack – with tracks that include "Dover Beach" and "Slow Water" by Brian Eno – plus "Plastic Surgery" and "Deutscher Girls" by Adam & The Ants, "Nine To Five" by The Maneaters, "Jerusalem" and "Rule Britannia" by Suzi Pinns, "Wargasm In Pornotopia" by Amicar, and "Right To Work" by Chelsea.  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Vladimir Cosma

Alexander
Polydor, Early 70s. Sealed
Mostly lush and laidback tunes, written by Cosma for this strange little French film from the early 70s – about a guy who spends most of his time as a shut in! The track does have a great theme – the tune "Where Is The Summertime", which is performed in a great bossa nova ... LP, Vinyl record album

Catch My Soul
Polydor (UK), 1971. Near Mint- Gatefold

Georges Delerue/Melina Mercouri

Promise At Dawn
Polydor, Early 70s. Sealed
Melina Mercouri and director Jules Dassin team up once again for this early 70s dramatic film. Music is by Georges Delerue, handled in the typical style of his more serious work at the time – with plenty of dreamy touches and more dramatic moments. The soundtrack also sports a strange vocal ... LP, Vinyl record album

John Barry

Chase
Columbia, 1966. Very Good
A lesser-known moment of genius from John Barry – quite different than his work for the James Bond films of the time! Barry's working here in a mix of more ambitious orchestral themes – dark, brooding, and moody – but also interspersed with some lighter jazzier numbers that are ... LP, Vinyl record album

Georges Delerue

King Of Hearts
United Artists, 1967. Sealed
A nice little Georges Delerue score to this quirky and sentimental film from the mid 60s. The tunes are all relatively short – and a mixture of Delerue's usual French-tinged themes with other tracks that have a bit more of a regal composure, in keeping with the performance of Alan Bates in ... John Barry/Shirley Bassey

Diamonds Are Forever
United Artists, 1971. Sealed
A wicked little James Bond soundtrack – one of the lesser-known ones, which is why it's all that more great!
