Mister B/Mister B Theme

12-inch (Item 74694) Black Jack, 1984 — Condition: Near Mint-
Out Of Stock

12-inch, Vinyl record

✈

A goofy little single that's sort of a "Stars On 45" version of James Brown tracks, with excerpts from "Sex Machine", "Soul Power", and "Super Bad", all done in a big medley. Not bad, actually – but kind of a weird concept!  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Promo.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Manhattan, 1985. Very Good+ (pic cover)
A pretty great number from Bernard Wright – much smoother and more R&B than some of his work on GRP/Arista, but a great track with a wonderful 80s groove hook! The vocals are surprisingly nice, augmented by a female singer on the chorus – and the tune's still got some nice jazzy ... 12-inch, Vinyl record

Although Oneness Of Juju are best known around here for their avant funky spiritual jazz albums from the mid 70's, they're really best known in clubland for the a-side of this single, "Every Way But Loose". The track still retains some of their afro jazz elements, but it's got a heavy ... 12-inch, Vinyl record

Hillbilly House, 1990. Very Good+
A killer groove – and a legendary jazzy single from the Chicago scene! The cut was licensed from Disco Magic in Italy, and it's presented here in the US Hillbilly House pressing, which includes the monster "piano groove" mix, the kind of jazzy instrumental that's pure Chicago ... 12-inch, Vinyl record

A classic early bit of Chicago Latin house that needs no introduction in these parts. Super stripped down, with some nice Latin-y percussion over the top. 12-inch, Vinyl record
Epic, 1978. Very Good+
A real 70s killer from Real Thing – a tune that has a jazzy clubby sound that's very much in the best Earth Wind & Fire mode – right down to the riffing instrumentation and tightly crafted percussion!
