Jack The Ripper

LP (Item 746826) RCA, 1959 — Condition: Very Good

(Cover has some wear and aging.)

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Hugo Montenegro

Man From UNCLE
RCA, 1965. Very Good-
An amazing little soundtrack that's almost better than the show for which it was written! The set's a landmark batch of work from Hugo Montenegro – working here in a jazzy style that has lots of 60s mod touches – traces of spy soundtrack influence, but a bit more straight ahead too ... Henry Mancini

Peter Gunn
RCA, 1959. Very Good
A classic! This is the record that made Mancini's career, and forever transformed the face of crime and jazz. The record's a stunning batch of instrumentals, played by a crack group of west coast players who also performed regularly in the TV show. Titles include the classic "Peter ... Harley Hatcher

Wild Wheels
RCA, 1969. Very Good+
A weird batch of folksy rock tunes – composed and produced by Harley Hatcher for Sidewalk Enterprises, and sounding a lot more like a Sidewalk or Tower soundtrack than something on RCA. The groups are the usual obscurities that would show up on a Mike Curb soundtrack – pictured on the ... LP, Vinyl record album
RCA, 1966. Near Mint-
A spy film – and with a mix of jazz and orchestral themes that's similar to some of Henry Mancini's work from the same time. The main theme is nice and jazzy, with some good guitar, and a great crime theme sound. Two other nice tracks are "The Pussy Willow Club" and "Pussy ... LP, Vinyl record album

Georges Auric

Bonjour Tristesse
RCA, 1958. Very Good+
The great, bracing score to the fantastic Otto Preminger film, with music by Georges Auric, and nice dramatic saxophone passages. Juliette Greco sings the title song in a nice dramatic Frenchy fashion, and the whole thing does great justice to the steamy book by Francoise Sagan. LP, Vinyl record album

Henry Mancini

Two For The Road
RCA, 1967. Near Mint-
A wonderful soundtrack to one of our favorite American films of the 60s – the amazing Two For The Road, scored here beautifully by Henry Mancini! Nino Oliveiro

Run For Your Wife
RCA, 1966. Near Mint-
A lovely groover – one of the swinginest soundtracks penned by Nino during the 60s, written for a sex comedy starring Uno Tognazzi and Juliet Prowse. The feel of the work is great – somewhere between Piero Piccioni and John Barry – with a mixture of strings, tight rhythms, and ... LP, Vinyl record album
