A set of 70s TV themes – all handled by Brit easy maestro Ray Martin, and featuring a fair bit of British TV tunes as well! TV Themes 2 is the funkier of the bunch – recorded a few years later, and with some great electric elements at times – the kind of cop/crime styles that make 70s TV soundtracks so great. There's definitely a few mellow cuts, but Martin's really expanded his reach on the record past usual British bits – bringing in some American shows to cook up the grooves a bit – and serving up the music in a blend of funky jazz and larger orchestrations. Titles include "Emmerdale Farm", "Warship", "Kojak", "Kung Fu", "Ironside", "European Football", "International Golf", "Film 74", and "Mission Impossible". The first TV Themes album (oddly featured second here on the disc), has Martin turning out good bits circa 1973 – tunes that are often an update of popular 60s television modes – a bit jazzy and jaunty at times, but some 70s elements creeping into the mix, although not as heavily funky as you might hear a few years later. Some of the songs were quite big on British TV, but weren't heard as strongly here in the US – and titles include "Top Of The Form", "Match Of The Day", "Nationwide", "General Hospital", "Crossroads", "Grandstand", "News At Ten", and "Midweek". CD also features 3 previously unissued bonus cuts – "Film 74", "Sale Of The Century", and "Star Trek".  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.
