A rare Canadian performance from Bill Evans – recorded at Camp Fortune in Ottawa in 1974, and different than the set previously issued on the Blue In Green CD! The setting is personal and intimate, with all the best lyrical touches of Evans at this great point in his career – and the recording quality is quite strong too, apparently done for radio, with a clarity that brings out some of the richest colors and tones from Bill's piano. Bass is by Eddie Gomez and drums by Marty Morrell – but there's a spare, almost solo approach on most numbers – especially as Bill's just getting started. Titles include "Beautiful Love", "Time Remembered", "Elsa", "Sugar Plum", "Midnight Mood", and "Morning Glory". CD also features 4 more bonus tracks from a September, 1972 TV performance in New York – played by the same group, on tracks that include "How My Heart Sings", "Gloria's Step", "Time Remembered", and "My Romance". © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.
