Animals (12" version, dub, single version)

12-inch (Item 741717) Motown, 1986 — Condition: Near Mint-
Out Of Stock

12-inch, Vinyl record

✈

(Promo in a Motown sleeve.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

The closest that Marvin ever came to a disco single – a 12" version of this long funky track from the Here My Dear album, expanded to 8 minutes for the single, and featuring an instrumental version too! 12-inch, Vinyl record

Completely sublime! Shuggie Otis first wrote and recorded "Strawberry Letter 23", but it took The Brothers Johnson, and some smooth Quincy Jones production to make it a hit! The track loses none of it's original trippy soul in this version – and if anything, the better vocals ... 12-inch, Vinyl record

Super raw house tracks, barely more than a drum machine and a bassline, and just the way we like it, too! 12-inch, Vinyl record
Willpower, 1979. Very Good+
A definite mood setter here – tightly-stepping disco rhythms, with plenty of fast basslines under the strings – all to set up a punchy groove that's topped with plenty of horns! There's a bit of lyrics in there somewhere, but the main focus is instrumental – and there's some nice ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
Paisley Park, 1987. Near Mint- (pic cover)
A fantastic setting for "If I Was Your Girlfriend" – a wonderfully nasty slow funk number from Prince – backed here by the even-better "Shockadelica" – a fuzzy, raspy number that wasn't issued on any full length album at the time! 12-inch, Vinyl record
