Ritmo Cha Onda

LP (Item 735295) Barbaro, 1978 — Condition: Near Mint-

(Cover has a bumped corner.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

RCA/Carino, 1957. Very Good
Not the all-out percussion affair you might guess from the title – but still a plenty great little album of late 50s Latin from Havana – done with a sweetly syncopated sound on all the tunes! That Cuban Cha Cha Cha
RCA, 1956. Very Good-
A Cuban classic from Orquesta Aragon – recorded back in the days when US labels like RCA still had access to music being recorded in Havana! The style here is very much in keeping with the cha cha cha in the title – but it's also very much the Cuban variation, with a slightly more ... LP, Vinyl record album

Discuba, 1959. Very Good
Lean, lively work from Orquesta Aragon – a set that has the famous Cuban combo firmly hitting the pachanga era with a sweet mix of flute, violin, piano, and percussion! Me Voy Para La Luna
Musart, Early 60s. Near Mint-
Orquesta Aragon's set to hit the moon on this one – posed on the cover in front of a cheesy rocket ship, bags packed, and instruments ready to go. The album's one of the group's more obscure ones, but it features plenty of prime mid 60s jamming, and a set list that includes "Aladino" ... LP, Vinyl record album

Latin Fever
Liberty, Late 50s. Very Good+
One of the greatest albums of Latin Jazz ever recorded on the west coast during the 50s – and a landmark session from Jack "Mr Bongo" Costanzo! The album well earns its "fever" claim – as the set smokes from the very first note – Jack's bongos calling the pace ... LP, Vinyl record album
