Guess Who's In Town – Bobby Short Performs The Songs Of Andy Razaf

LP (Item 727192) Atlantic, 1987 — Condition: Sealed

(Cover has a cutout notch.)

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Chris Connor

Chris Craft
Atlantic, 1958. Very Good+
Chris' Craft is a great one here – beautifully simple and straightforward jazz vocals, served up at a level that few other singers can match! The album's one of our favorites from Connor's classic years with Atlantic – as it's got a mellow, moody approach that's filled with the darker ... LP, Vinyl record album

Sings George Gershwin
Clarion, Late 50s. Very Good+
An album that looks at first glance like not much more than what it says – versions of Gershwin tunes by Chris Connor, done in a nicely arranged style, but is actually a rather nice set. This albums is a trimmed down version of the great double LP set Connor cut for Atlantic, issued on their ... LP, Vinyl record album

Perhaps the biggest album ever for Irish singer/songwriter Gilbert O'Sullivan – and the one that yielded him his big hit "Clair", a great little ditty about an uncle whose fallen in love with his niece! A sexy little set from singer Meg Myles – recorded live before a very adult nightclub crowd – with a great set of tunes to match!
