Mystic Number National Bank

LP (Item 72142) ABC/Probe, Late 60s — Condition: Very Good+
Gatefold
Pretty bluesy rock from one of the hip groups on ABC's progressive Probe imprint. The tracks are electric, clearly Chicago-inspired, and have a raunchy feel on most numbers. Titles include "Good Love", "AC/DC", "Blues Jam", "Ginger Man", "Big Boy", and "Blues So Bad". Horns arranged by Bob James.  © 1996-2025, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(In the die-cut gatefold cover, with some ring & edge wear.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Can't Buy A Thrill
ABC, 1972. Very Good+ Gatefold
The first album from Steely Dan, and a really nice chapter in their career – one that's maybe a bit less iconic than the late 70s records, but in a way that really keeps things interesting! Orleans

Orleans (1973)
ABC, 1973. Very Good+ Gatefold
The debut of Orleans – and a set that's got all the charms of the group's later work, but a more down to earth vibe as well! ABC, 1973. Very Good
Superb work from Steely Dan – and a record that really shows them hitting perfection in the studio! Donovan

Barabajagal
Epic, 1968. Near Mint-
Donovan at his jazzy best – really picking up where Mellow Yellow left off, and pushing the jazz influences in his sound to deeper lengths! Blondie

Autoamerican
Chrysalis, 1980. Very Good+
The biggest sounding Blondie album by far – and a radical leap from New York new wave scene band to a wildly ambitious pop pastiche machine! The band always had a fearless way of filtering far-reaching pop sounds into their material, even when they were still on the CBGBs scene, and while ... LP, Vinyl record album
