This image is a general representation of the item and the actual product may differ slightly in terms of color shading, logo placement, borders, or other small details. Used items may have various cosmetic differences as well.
(Includes the printed inner sleeve. Cover has a cutout hole.)
Near Mint - (minus)
Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so.
These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play,
but might detract from the looks.
May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be
intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under
the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record.
(Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
Possible minor surface noise when played.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
An early 70s set from Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band – but one that was actually recorded in the mid 60s – a bit before the classic Trout Mask Replica! The set shows Beefheart and the band at their most unbridled – really jamming with bluesy roots, but into the very ... LP, Vinyl record album
We're not sure we'd go as far as to say that Mike Finnigan and Jerry Wood are the crazed hipsters promised in the title – but they do a very good job here of hitting some of the more offbeat sides of the scene in the early 70s! By the time of the record, Mike had plenty of experience on a ... LP, Vinyl record album
Shoes continue the brilliance of their first album for Elektra – serving up the kind of music that was so well-done, so subtle, it was maybe missed by most of the world at the time – even though it's gone onto the status of classic, thanks to legions of fans and critics! Surprisingly sublime pop from The Partridge Family – served up with superb arrangements from Wes Farrell and Mike Melvoin, the latter of whom plays some really great keyboards on the set! In fact, all the instrumentation is pretty great – guitar from Dennis Budimir and Larry Carlton, ... LP, Vinyl record album
Supreme love fest in action – and Brian's back at the production helm. Proof that therapy has some effect on the world – and with the tracks "Roller Skating Child", "Good Time", "Johnny Carson", "Night Was So Young", and "Airplane". LP, Vinyl record album
EPMD's incredible full length debut – a straight up all caps CLASSIC late 80s effort – raising the bar for the genre and helping pave the way for so much of the best golden age hip hop to come! Bottom heavy funky soul beats and masterful use of samples anchor the production, and the ... LP, Vinyl record album
A strange little package that's dedicated to the jazz use of the bass – and which features bass-heavy highlights from the history of Impulse records. The real strength of the set is the avant garde material – especially as some of the tracks on here aren't that easy to find otherwise. ... LP, Vinyl record album
