Confrontation

LP (Item 71906) Island, 1983 — Condition: Very Good+
Gatefold
A posthumous album from the great Bob Marley – but one that's every bit as important as all the classics that were released during his too-short lifetime! The record really continues that righteous power of the later Bob Marley years on Island – that global scope in both the music's power, and Bob's vision for change in the world – sometimes issued at a more personal level, but always with a spirit that's strong enough to inspire the generations who've grabbed onto this album as a favorite. Titles include "Chant Down Babylon", "Buffalo Soldier", "Mix Up Mix Up", "Blackman Redemption", "Jump Nyabinghi", "Stiff Necked Fools", "I Know", and "Trench Town".  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Rhythm Killers
Island, 1987. Near Mint-
We love Sly & Robbie – really we do. And while they were responsible for many of the toughest rhythms ever laid to wax, they did cut their share of material that hits nice and hard, but may not be as sublime as their finest and fattest. Bunny Wailer

Sings The Wailers
Mango, 1980. Very Good+
A later effort from perhaps the least prolific of the solo Wailers. Bunny does nice later interpretations of Wailers classics, with a generous helping hand from Sly & Robbie, and adds a nice rendition of Curtis Mayfield's "Keep On Moving" to the set. A favorite album of ours from ... LP, Vinyl record album

Eugene Record
Warner, 1977. Very Good+
A great solo moment from Eugene Record – the singer who'd rose to fame with The Chi-Lites, and who still sounds pretty darn great here on his own!
