Returns To The Palladium – Live! (2nd pressing)

LP (Item 714017) United Artists, 1961 — Condition: Very Good+

Tito Rodriguez returns to the Palladium – in a smoking set that's got all the great jazzy touches of his first volume at the famous club, but a bit more of a charanga groove overall! The core combo elements that make Tito great are firmly in place – that strong sense of rhythm and great ear for jazzy inflections on the horns – especially saxophone. But added to this are some charanga elements on piano and in the rhythms – supported by the vocals on the cuts as well. Tracks include the originals "Ritmo Charanga", "El Que Se Fue", "Baila La Charanga", "El Oso Y La Osa", "Bartolo Saco La Flauta", and "Que Lo Gocen Todos" – plus "Oyeme Antonia", "Si Te Contara", and "Yambu".  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Cover has light wear.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

An excellent little set from Tito – recorded in the late 50s for Tico, with a groove that's harder than much of his 60s work for United Artists!
