Smokin

LP (Item 712085) A&M, 1972 — Condition: Very Good+
(Silver label pressing. Cover has light wear.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Humble Pie

Thunderbox
A&M, 1974. Very Good+
Humble Pie scales back a bit on Thunderbox – a tighter set than the preceding Eat It – but like that album, it's overlooked these days and it has plenty to recommend it! Some of the most hard-hitting work ever recorded by Humble Pie – and that's saying a lot, given the power of the group on other albums! A&M, 1979. Very Good+
A hell of a record from Supertramp – the set that catapulted them into global stardom after a late 70s run of really great, but overlooked albums! Body & Soul
A&M, 1984. Near Mint-
A real step forward for Joe Jackson, and a record that has plenty of jazz in the mix – as you might guess from its cover's hommage to a Sonny Rollins 50s album on Blue Note! Titles include "You Can't Get What You Want", "Be My Number Two", "Loisaida", "Happy ... LP, Vinyl record album
