This image is a general representation of the item and the actual product may differ slightly in terms of color shading, logo placement, borders, or other small details. Used items may have various cosmetic differences as well.
(Mono silver label with deep groove pressing. Cover has a '1960 Award' sticker, light surface wear.)
Very Good + (plus)
Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have
some signs of use (although not major ones).
May have slight surface noise when played.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Heavenly soul doesn't get any more heavenly than this! Al Green's at the height of his powers here – working in that wonderfully smooth, wonderfully warm style that made his early 70s material so wonderful! This album's maybe slightly less iconic than some of Green's other titles for Hi ... LP, Vinyl record album
A great mix of modes – and a set that represents a real turning point in the career of Otis Clay! It's the mid 70s, but Ann's still very much in classic form – with thanks to arrangements and production by Willie Mitchell and backing by Andrew Love, Wayne Jackson, and James Mitchell – and sultry, soulful vocals from Ann! There's a bit more of a groove-oriented production style here ... LP, Vinyl record album
Al Green's last secular album for Hi Records – but still a nice little cooker that's overflowing with Memphis soul! As with Green's previous set for Hi, the album's produced by Al himself, and not Willie Mitchell – in a style that's a bit rougher, chunkier, and almost funkier than the ... LP, Vinyl record album
Nice disco stuff from Alan Hawkshaw! Hawkshaw arranged and produced the whole record – and it's got lots of sexy keyboard and production work. Most cuts have vocals, but the real strength is Hawkshaw's instrumental work – honed to perfection after years of working with Serge ... LP, Vinyl record album
Sure, at the time the group's silly costumes and slap-bass funk sound were a bit too much to take – but from the perspective of a few decades later, they actually had a pretty darn nice 80s groove kind of sound, and this first album's not a bad one for the dancefloor. Titles include "Thi ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of the two 80s masterpieces by this amazing Minneapolis group, before Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis left to change the face of commercial R&B!
