Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

BT Express

Keep it Up
Columbia/FTG, 1982. Used
Great later work from BT Express – a record with a sound that's cleaner, leaner, and more stripped-down than some of their earlier records! The style here is still the same as before – mostly soul aimed at the dancefloor, served up with a tremendous sense of bottom rhythm – but ... CD

The cover has Tyrone Davis in a very diverse crowd, but the record is pure Davis all the way through – that great blend of bluesy roots and classier soul that made most of his 70s records so wonderful! The approach here is even more careful and well put-together than some of Tyrone's last ... CD

Earth Wind & Fire

All 'N All (with bonus tracks)
Columbia, 1977. Used
Genius, pure genius! It was hard for Earth, Wind & Fire to go wrong at this point – and the album's a stellar blend of jazz, funk, and soul, all done in that perfect style they'd hit by the mid 70s. And even though this one was a monster album, of the type that you see in everyone's ... CD

Promise
Columbia/Portrait, 1985. Used
Sade's second album, and while it's not totally sublime as the first, it's still a damn great set with a smooth jazzy vibe that will have you coming back again and again! Includes the lovely "The Sweetest Taboo", plus "Is It A Crime", "War Of The Hearts", "Mr ... CD

Luther Vandross

Your Secret Love
Columbia, 1996. Used
Nothing secret about Luther Vandross at this point in his career – as the album's part of his huge mainstream run in the 90s – with a strongly crossover sound to match! At points, the record verges on adult contemporary themes and backings – but Luther's vocals remain solidly ... CD

Hi Records/Right Stuff, 1972. Used
Warm wonderfulness from the great Al Green – a record that may have a pale-looking cover, but a set that's one of Green's most deeply soulful albums ever! There's a grace and a glow to the set right from the very first note – that really unique presentation and performance that makes ... CD
