A really unique little special project put together by Warner Brothers at the end of the 50s – a famous date that features nearly every important jazz trombonist at the time! Players here include JJ Johnson, Jimmy Cleveland, Benny Green, Melba Liston, Benny Powell, Bob Brookmeyer, Herbie Harper, Eddie Bert, Henry Coker, Frank Rehak, Frank Rosolino, and others – all coming together in very large head arrangements that have the trombones soaring, gliding, and grooving together – but always in a way that's surprisingly lean, given the overall size of the groups! Arrangers Marty Paich, Warren Barker, and JJ Johnson are a good reason for the strength of the set – and although tracks are short, there's plenty of great interplay going on. Titles include "Soft Winds", "Tee Jay", "Neckbones", "Dues Blues", "Long Before I Knew You", "Lassus Trombone", "It's Alright With Me", and "Old Devil Moon". © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Used CDs may show some signs of use, but if there are significant details or defects we will describe the item's condition (just like we do with LPs), so look for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details before ordering.
All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.
