The notes go out of their way to declare that the Hazel heard here is slightly different than the one better known to crowds from her more popular work on the coast – and the quality of the work more than backs up that fact, presenting Scott in a tinkling ivory mode that's still got some cocktail qualities, but which also has Roach and Mingus pushing her towards more adventurous tones.
