Guitar Boogie

LP (Item 704002) RCA, Mid 60s — Condition: Very Good+
Pre-fame recordings from these three British guitar giants – with titles that include "West Coast Idea" and "Snake Drive" by Eric Clapton, "Freight Loader" and "Choker" by Eric Clapton with Jimmy Page, "Steelin" and "Chuckles" by The All Stars with Jeff Beck, and "Down In The Boots" and "LA Breakdown" by The All Stars with Jimmy Page.  © 1996-2023, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Black label pressing. Cover has light surface wear.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Nilsson Sings Newman
RCA, 1970. Near Mint-
The pairing of the early genius of Harry Nilsson and Randy Newman – one of the most sublime albums of the early 70s! Nilsson Sings Newman, written by a then fairly unknown Randy Newman was certainly an odd project to undertake for an artist generally regarded as a songwriting talent, but boy ... RCA, 1977. Very Good+
The Thin White Duke turns to the east – and gets a whole new sound with help from Brian Eno! The album is an amazing departure from some of David Bowie's previous work – a set that's sparer, more spacious, and which is often instrumental – quite a statement, given Bowie's ... LP, Vinyl record album

RCA, 1982. Very Good+
This album is part of H&O's great comeback years in the early 80s – a time when they were mixing their white boy soul with some nice 80s groove and electro touches, often going for a spare mix of groove and vocals that's really compelling. Tim Buckley

Goodbye & Hello
Elektra, 1967. Very Good+ Gatefold
Easily one of our favorite albums by Tim Buckley – and a record that really opens up with some key jazzy touches! Buckley's still got his roots in folk here, and his vocals are yet to hit the extremes of Starsailor or Lorca – but there's also a new sense of inflection to the way he ... LP, Vinyl record album
