Wheels – Let's Go To The Drag Strip

LP (Item 694868) RCA, 1964 — Condition: Very Good
Not the familiar Tokens, but a pretty hip hot rod group – heard here on titles that include "My First Set Of Wheels", "Drag City", "My Friend's Car", "Dirt Track Twister", "Let's Go To The Drag Strp", and "Little Hot Rod Suzie". Arranged by Artie Butler too!  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Jose Feliciano

Feliciano!
RCA, 1968. Very Good+
An amazing record! By all rights, this shouldn't be so good – but it's an incredible album of haunting tracks that really has us coming back again and again over the years. The formula is simple: Jose plays late 60s pop tunes on acoustic guitar, and sings them in his spacey soulful voice. ... LP, Vinyl record album

RCA (Japan), Mid/Late 1960s. Near Mint-
Really amazing early work from Al Stewart – light years away from his bigger 70s AM radio fame, and instead a very sensitive singer and songwriter, with a unique vocal approach as well! LP, Vinyl record album

David Bowie

Pinups
RCA, 1973. Very Good+
A key blend of two chapters in David Bowie's career – his guitar-heavy groove with the Spiders From Mars, and his 60s roots in mod London! The tracks here all date from the mid 60s, and are Bowie's homage to that period in his life – but they're all played with a glammish 70s ... LP, Vinyl record album
RCA, 1975. Very Good+
One of the oddest of the 70s concept albums by The Kinks – a set of tracks that takes Ray Davies and the band back to the school days of their youth – where they revisit frustrations, anger, and the disgrace in the title! The best moments here are the ones that unlock a bit of the ... LP, Vinyl record album

Guess Who

Wheatfield Soul
RCA, 1968. Very Good+
A classic of Canadian rock – and a set that broke big on this side of the border too! Wheatfield Soul is a sublime showcase for the young talents of Burton Cummings, Randy Bachman, and other members of the group – working here in a mix of jazz/rock modes and blue-eyed soul that would ... Fireworks
RCA, 1970. Very Good+
Classic work by Jose in the style he forged in LA at the end of the 60s – a mix of 60s pop and soul with that wonderful Latin style he used, the one that made his vocals and guitar cry slightly with the rhythms, taking conventional and familiar songs, and opening them up in a whole new way, ... A&M, 1979. Very Good
A hell of a record from Supertramp – the set that catapulted them into global stardom after a late 70s run of really great, but overlooked albums! The album is a pure pop masterpiece all the way through – catchy tunes with slightly deeper ideas – a nice sense of striving in the ... LP, Vinyl record album
