Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so.
These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play,
but might detract from the looks.
May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be
intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under
the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record.
(Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
Possible minor surface noise when played.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Madness from Andre – a side that you don't often hear on record! "Mrs Mother" is kind of a tongue in cheek dedication to mothers everywhere – done with Andre speaking over the top of a sad and bluesy strings-drenched backing! A nice one to buy for your mom in May! "Cadi ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
Two hard driving cuts by The Radiants, both with arrangements by Charles Stepney, and a nice fuzzy soul sound in the best Cadet mode. "Hold On" is the better cut, and has a nice guitar in the mix! 7-inch, Vinyl record
Great work by The Radiants – arranged here by Charles Stepney, with a tripped-out sound that's like the best late 60s work by The Dells! "Ida Mae Foster" is a real bit of psychedelic soul, with guitars coming down on the beat, fuzzing things up along with a really loud cello, while ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
2 nice numbers from Tony Clarke – best known for "The Entertainer", but a really great singer who cut some fine singles for Chess! "Poor Boy" is as sad as it sounds – a downbeat number that has Tony singing in a good mix of deep and sweet styles! "Fugitive ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
Obscure mid period material from Garland! "Bumpin & Stompin" is a funky disco number, with a groove that's not too bad in a kind of pop soul way, but which doesn't work as well for Garland as other backing. The flip's nice, though, and features a very tasty spokey bluesy kind of ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
