The landmark first album recorded by Andy Bey and his hip sisters Salome and Geraldine – cut even before their 2 rare classics on Prestige! The style here is completely sublime – a unique blend of jazz, folk, and some earthier elements – all served up with the warm and wonderful ... LP, Vinyl record album
Leon Thomas' first album for Flying Dutchman – and one of his best ever! The vibe is very similar to his work with Pharoah Sanders – with long modal tracks that bring out the best side of Thomas' spiritual vocalizations – especially on the 17 minute track "Pharoah's Tune ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of the first albums ever cut by Jackie Paris – an excellent male singer from the 50s, of the same generation as Mark Murphy and Bobby Troup, but who unfortunately never made a name as big as either of those two. This set has Jackie singing with arrangements by Manny Albam – fairly ... LP, Vinyl record album

There's a tighter feel here than some of Thomas' more free-flowing spiritual jazz sessions – but the sound is hardly commercial at all, either – and still has ... LP, Vinyl record album
Killer 60s work from Nancy! Despite the "easy" in the title, this record's a perfect batch of pop soul tunes – arranged by Jimmy Jones with a breezy style that works perfectly for Nancy's voice. The record features her big hit "Face it Girl, It's Over", which was ... LP, Vinyl record album
Beautiful 50's material from Jimmy, and some of the best recordings you could ever find by him! The style is classic, with Jimmy's light wispy voice floating over the top of melancholy arrangements of tracks like "Address Unknown", "It's Over", "Am I Wrong", and " ... LP, Vinyl record album

Richard Tee plays electric piano, and the band includes Billy Butler, George Coleman, and Ron Carter – all of whom do their best to keep things hip, and not fall into some of the schmaltzier ... LP, Vinyl record album
A rare jazz vocal album from Dave Brubeck – one that has the famous pianist working here with Carmen McRae – who served up a hose of vocal versions of some of Dave's best compositions! The format is a great one – a really fresh take on the Brubeck idiom, and a setting that makes ... LP, Vinyl record album
A nice dose of jazz – as usual for Jimmy – thanks to some arrangements by Oliver Nelson, plus piano from Dave Frishberg and tenor from Buddy Tate! Titles include "You Can't Run Around", "Blues IN The Dark", "Tell Me I'm Not To Late", "Berkely Campus ... LP, Vinyl record album
Moody set of vocals recorded by this obscure Chicago singer. Lurlean got her start at the classy south side Club DeLisa, home to Sun Ra, and a host of other Chicago talents – but by the time of this recording, she'd moved downtown, and had become a classy smoky voiced singer with a good ...
