Motown Sound – Collection Of Original 16 Big Hits Vol 6
LP (Item 685480) Motown, 1967 — Condition: Very Good
May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean,
and not too dirty.
May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play,
but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep.
Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well,
with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song,
but never throughout a whole song or more.
This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times,
but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Not a disco collection, but a batch of classic Motown tracks from the 60s – presented in a way that feels as if a DJ is spinning them back to back in a club, with almost no space between the tunes! 16 titles in all, with work by Marvin Gaye, Earl Van Dyke, The Velvelettes, Four Tops, Jr ... Titles include "Walk Away From Love", "Ain't Too Proud To Beg", "Everything's Coming Up Love", "(I Know) I'm Losing You", "My Whole World Ended (The Moment You Left Me)", "You're My Piece Of Mind", "My Girl", "Just Let Me ... LP, Vinyl record album
Two Lovers features the subtitle And Other Greatest Hits, but it's actually a great batch of songs that were most newly-recorded by Mary at the time – and not at all a simple round-up of singles! The approach here has just a little more rawness than some of the girl groups Berry Gordy was ... LP, Vinyl record album
Classic heartbreaking soul from Brenda Holloway – one of the weepiest early records on Motown, as you might guess from the title! The style here is almost more New York uptown than Detroit at times – a fair bit like Maxine Brown with its mix of strength and fragility on the vocals, and ... LP, Vinyl record album
A nice UK collection – filled with early solo work by Jimmy Ruffin on Motown! Titles include "As Long As There Is Love", "What Becomes Of The Brokenhearted"," Gonn Give Her All The Love I've Got", "This Guy's In Love With You", "World So Wide ... LP, Vinyl record album
By this point in their career, The Commodores have lost Lionel Richie and any sort of funk credibility they had from their early years – but they also somehow manage to reemerge with a great new talent for a sweet mellow groove! The title tune "Nightshift" was one of those tracks ... LP, Vinyl record album
A bit of a cheesy package – a picture disc with a very 80s looking drawn image of Michael and his brothers, a poster, and a white glove covered with glittery golden J5 logos. 14 nice tracks though: "I Want You Back", "ABC", "I'll Be There", "The Love You ... LP, Vinyl record album
