Aliotta Haynes Music

LP (Item 681467) Ampex, 1970 — Condition: Very Good

(In the textured cover, includes the printed inner sleeve.)

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Beach Boys

Surfin' Safari
Capitol, 1962. Very Good
The album that first launched the Beach Boys on an unsuspecting 60s scene – and a record that really raised the bar for rock and roll at Capitol Records! Replacements

Let It Be
Twin Tone, 1984. Very Good+
The masterpiece by one of the greatest, most sincere rock bands of all time! Let It Be veers all over the place, or at least as much as jangly rock music can, in the best way possible. Includes the pseudo twangy opener "I Will Dare", with the distinctly midwestern hardcore of the group's ... LP, Vinyl record album

Clash

Combat Rock
Epic, 1982. Very Good+
Sure, the cover's a bit dated – but the politics have stayed surprisingly strong over the years – as has the music as well! Talking Heads

Speaking In Tongues
Sire, 1983. Very Good+

Brotherhood

Brotherhood (1969)
RCA, 1969. Very Good+
An even tighter set than the first album from The Brotherhood – and one that has the group really finding a way to tap into their older garagey roots, while still keeping plenty of fuzz and psych intact! The drums are great – that powerful punch that Mike Smitty Smith always brought to ... LP, Vinyl record album
Capitol, 1968. Very Good Gatefold

Alice Cooper

Love It To Death
Straight/Warner, 1971. Very Good+ Gatefold
The third album from Alice Cooper and perhaps the first great one – starting the 70s sleaze show win streak with the massive "I'm Eighteen" and an LP full of great, gritty and grimy rock and roll. Bob Ezrin's producing for the first time, and if the songs and the whole show isn't ... LP, Vinyl record album
Capitol/Apple, 1967. Very Good+ Gatefold
Hard to deny the lasting power of this crucial album from The Beatles – a set that unleashed some of their trippiest sounds and most tender moments too! Freeze is a wonderful set from Junie – a record that has all the offbeat funk he was crafting with the Ohio Players during their Westbound years – and the same sort of heady sound that would make Morrison a perfect match with the P-Funk empire! The record contains the legendary track ... LP, Vinyl record album

Bobby Hutcherson

San Francisco
Blue Note, 1971. Good+
Genius, pure genius! This album's possibly the most perfectly realized set from the team of Bobby Hutcherson on vibes and Harold Land on reeds – a pair who work here with an electric bass player and a bit of electric piano (the latter from Joe Sample) – hitting territory that's ...
