Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so.
These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play,
but might detract from the looks.
May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be
intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under
the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record.
(Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
Possible minor surface noise when played.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
The grand piano in the hands of the maestro – the great Horst Jankowski, an artist who took the instrument from the concert hall to the AM radio in the 60s! The album's got Jankowksi playing in this nicely punctuated style – a deftness of fingerskills that points towards a more serious ... LP, Vinyl record album
A fantastic album from the great Horst Jankowski – and a set that really points the way towards some of his groovy records to come for the MPS label! The sound here is maybe a bit more sprightly and upbeat than some of Jankowski's previous records – still a haunting blend of his grand ... LP, Vinyl record album
The genius of Jankowski here is in the way that Horst manages to create this sweet little groove every time he hits the keys of the piano – often syncopating the rhythms a bit in the background, which kicks up the lead instrument nicely – in ways that are quite different than the usual ... A collection of guitar instrumentals by Jorgen Ingmann. The tracks are for solo guitar but Ingmann was known for playing several different parts on his songs. The titles include "Moonlight Cocktail", "Old Moon", "Jorgen's Boogie", "Hallo Joe", "Blue ... LP, Vinyl record album
Remember how great and strange Harpo's musical interludes were in the old Marx Brothers' movies? Well, now you can have your very own collection of some of Harpo's lovely harp work recorded after he retired from the pictures! LP, Vinyl record album
Holy cow! A rare early Esquivel album, recorded in Mexico in the years before he came to the US! The record shows Esquivel's roots in the post-swing era, leading a big band that runs through everything from moody standards to souped up "rock & roll" material. The setting appears to ... An excellent album of late night sax and organ numbers – featuring the enigmatic alto player Big Sam Marowitz, paired with arrangements that make some nice use of the thinner end of the Hammond organ spectrum! The instrumentation also has a nice dose of electric guitar and bongos – all ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of the first few albums that Arthur Lyman recorded after his split with Martin Denny – and still very much in the best Denny mode – mixing vibes with percussion, and adding in lots of cool effects! There's a fair bit of exotic sounds in the mix – including birdcalls from ... LP, Vinyl record album
